O'Gara, as usual, finds a way to fill an otherwise reasonable argument with holes. Instead of comparing PT's picks to Pavia's he compares total turnovers. PT has thrown 7 picks; I can think of at least three that hit receivers in the hands and popped straight up for picks. Can't blame PT for that. Another couple were apparently on wrong routes by WRs. Those issues are on WRs failing to execute or the coaching staff for either failing to adequately coach them or putting in a system that is too complicated for them to run. Pavia has an advantage over PT in intangibles, the ability to keep eyes downfield when scrambling, and potentially situational awareness; I haven't watched enough Vandy this year to know how Pavia does on that count. The biggest issue is PT's tendency to make mistakes at crucial times (see the pick 6 against Oklahoma). As I said, there is a real point to be made, but Connor is too lazy to actually do more than look at a stat sheet and write an article.
While it's difficult to be certain what you were trying to say there, it appears the intention was to state that AU has had more HCs than Bama has had national championships. This is absolutely hilarious, given that AU and Bama have had the same number of HCs, according to wiki, and both far exceed even the fantastical 17 claimed by UAt. Bama has even had more coaches this century, which includes 16 seasons with one man at the helm. AU is not an outlier in firing coaches.
He will, more than likely, be kicking in the NFL if there is no lasting medical issue and you think he’s not playing because “his tummy hurts?” Crawl back into your mother/sister’s womb in whatever sad holler you emerged from; you evidently need a little more time to cook before you’re fully formed.
Pretty sure they were still 3 until the recent re ranks when many more AU commits were dropped than elevated.
I suppose we shouldn't be surprised that that the sort of imbecile who uses a phrase like "precipitous ice" is lacking in mental faculties in other respects as well. While many AU fans are frustrated with the on-field results, I don't know of anyone who wants him gone after the season. At or near the top of country in snaps played by true freshmen, nearly all of the best players on the team are underclassmen, with another very good class coming in, which should address many of the weaknesses currently present on the roster. This, in addition to the fact that there is obvious progress in terms of play, just with some backbreaking mistakes that turn out to be the difference between losing and winning games, means that actual AU fans do not want Freeze fired for his coaching, irrespective of what some national writer thinks after doing nothing more than looking at the results on the schedule thus far.
Funny, since I know many AU grads who got into UGA (including myself) and then went to AU. Frankly, after some of the drivel I have heard leaking from the mouths of UGA grads, I think they must be running a post secondary special education program in Athens.
Do you actually think there is any chance Heupel would go back to coach there after how it ended before?
There is no chance Freeze is fired after this season. Probably not after next season either. Harsin left a complete mess, which Freeze is beginning to clean up. There are very obviously problems in on field coaching, but the losses have not looked hopeless. If you watch the team, you can see the obvious progress, they just aren't getting the results. I am in no way guaranteeing that it will work out, but the question remains open at this point.
He's just a UF fan hoping another SEC team will circle the drain like his swamp puppies.
Ahh, the 420 seems to have impacted your cognitive abilities. According to USNWR, AU is #6 in the SEC, behind Vandy, UF, UTa, ATM, and UGA. Not elite, but hardly one of the worst academic schools in the conference.
That was frankly a very good day for Thorne. Over 300 yards, over 10 yards/attempt and three passing TDs. The pick was badly timed, but wasn't destined to be a pick 6. Just happened that no AU player could get there. That is one where I look at the stat sheet and can't quite tell how AU managed to lose a game where they outgained the opponent by almost 200 yards, were penalized less, and only turned the ball over one time.
What I've heard is that it was a noncontact injury related to an ongoing injury he's been dealing with.
You are delusional. D line has been decent, but can't generate pressure without a blitz and frequently fail to maintain rush lanes or gap discipline. The secondary has been a problem, but frankly played well on Saturday, with a few lapses. Keionte Scott just doesn't seem right, and has heard his name called far more than any DB would like to if they're picking the ball off. You think that because players are getting paid the coach should throw them under the bus for mistakes? How often do you see that in NFL pressers? Freeze's comments are unbecoming of a professional and have to give pause to recruits hearing them.
I am inclined to agree. This is embarrassing for the fans and even more so for the HC.
Look at the roster Harsin took over vs what he handed to Hugh. Hugh has done very little on the field to endear the fanbase, and probably less in press conferences, but that is not a reasonable comparison.
Wondering if he mixed up Coleman and KLS. But yes, hitting publish on this with that error in is just lazy.
The comment about Mizzou is strange. It's a totally fine school, but it's absolutely middle of the road in the SEC academically. I wondered if I was missing something, so I looked the US News rankings and it's behind 7 schools and tied with two others at #124 nationally. Maybe this guy thinks the journalism school is the sole determinant of academic prestige.
Bragging about Pruitt having the only win for UT against AU in this millennium is certainly a choice.
Bony: AU beat Mississippi State. And very nearly beat UAt, which would probably cause a person with a brain to refrain from any attempts to belittle that team, so as to avoid facing the reality that the your team was not much better.
If Kirby has been at UGA for 8 seasons, how has he played 18 regular season games against the West? Maybe hold off on doing anyone's research. If you want a better metric, remove the games against AU, since those are vastly overrepresented in the sample, and then compare to his record against the East. That would be a more accurate representation.
If UF does such a great job of setting up players for post football life, and his father and grandfather both played there, why is III going to Jones?
I actually love this. Let the kids get their speed fix and if they can't stick to reasonable driving off the track, consequences can be stiff.
Wow, so your claim that you watched the same thing happen with Saban should have made everyone aware you're not a UGA fan, despite the fact your screen name is Kirby4Prez and you're bootlicking for Kirby now? Mondon's charges literally included racing. You can keep saying that they just got tickets, you don't get taken to jail for traffic citation. Both got criminal, not civil traffic charges. A "ticket" is a traffic violation, not a criminal violation. You done yet or do you need some more?
You are trivializing this by saying "2 teenagers got tickets for speeding." What was the last time you got taken down to county jail for speeding? It's not magnified due to success, it's magnified because a player and staffer DIED WHILE RACING. I understand the urge to defend the team you cheer for but please, just for a moment, think. That said, O'gara is clearly just churning out clickbait with about 90% of his output. The headline is obvious nonsense and the idea that getting rid of NIL deals for cars would have any impact on the issue is so naive that we can only assume it's disingenuous. After all, how could a kid who is getting paid large amounts of money for sponsorships ever get a car if it didn't come directly from the dealership as part of a sponsorship??
And was not exactly having the game of his life against AU before getting hurt. A lot of potential, but it's all just potential at this point.
K State QB transferred out because there was a 5* QB behind him who most thought was going to take his job. If you can't appreciate football simply because it isn't the most refined possible product, give up college and go watch the NFL.
Other than that roster of first round receivers he was throwing to. But in all seriousness, great comment. Made me chuckle.
I just listen to football podcasts and am somehow better informed than you are about what's happening with your team. There was a contract, with a no cause termination clause, which they exercised. It is a fraud claim because it certainly appears that they never intended to actually pay, but made the contract anyway. Glance at the complaint, look up the elements of a fraud claim in FL and get back to us.
