Florida lands 2025 commitment from highly-touted kicker, former Arkansas pledge
Neither is Florida hence the need for him
Billy Napier says “Hold my beer”
He’s going to show fans what “more to come means”
This administration at our University is dead set on destroying the athletic department. I understand that education is the key goal for any and all universities however the athletic departments bring in serious cash and if you don’t support the athletic departments then that cash is going to go away. There are sins of commission and sins of omission and right now Florida is wading neck deep in both of them. Stricklin should have been fired 2 years ago and yet he’s still employed. Napier should have been fired last year and yet here we are keeping him again simply because of one (1) football player. That in and of itself is cause to fire him. The Rashada issue is cause 2. Napier claiming Mertz was the best quarterback in the portal should have told everyone something about his portal use. Mertz was good at throwing swing passes to running backs at best and with Napier’s offense that is exactly why his completion rate was high. Hiring a defensive coordinator to babysit another defensive coordinator? How about that one? Which one is actually coaching the defense right now? He’s the one that needs to be kept and quit spending money on the wasted one. I will give credit to the offensive line staff as it seems someone has finally got their heads out of their nether regions.
I understand this team is young. I understand Napier put this team together but you know what it also shows? It show Napier is a recruiter and it shows he could be a general manager BUT he isn’t a head coach and he isn’t an offensive coordinator.
Stricklin……..just looking at photos of his stupid grin makes you want to throw up. His hiring of questionable characters is unmatched. I’m not to judge Golden but Golden realizes the situation he has Florida in right now guilty or not there’s public perception and the perception of Florida right now is dismal and yet this administration continues to set the low bar for handling that perception.
At least we have Scully, he’s the showcase for a head coach.
Ouch
Napier needs about 100 more players
Here I am and this is my take.
Since nobody at the University has the cajones to fire him and he doesn’t have the dignity to resign and none of the boosters will take him to the woodshed and wear a baseball bat out on him then the very LEAST the University can do is cut his paycheck in half and use that money to acquire players from the portal.
I fully expect this depleted team to lose every one of the remaining games including YOUR semenholes 8115.
It won’t be the players fault because they are trying. This season has been like being in a boxing ring with one hand tied behind your back these guys haven’t stood a chance because they have to fight both their opponents and the head coach.
Billy just isn’t the guy and all we’re doing is killing time.
Someone desperately needs to take SS to a woodshed and get a 4 foot long hickory branch and explain to him how he needs to resign and resign immediately.
The explanation can take as little as 15 seconds or for their enjoyment it can take a full hour.
Either way there shouldn’t be much of the hickory stick left.
This administration is got to be the most useless excuse for a president and an athletic director ever.
And one last thought on Kiffen I’m just not sold there.
Personally I believe he’s after a check.
But then again who am I? He could come in and be the next Spurrier
By the way I got VERY VERY VERY ANGRY at all the injuries this past weekend and I blew some freaking steam. I said some things I regret and I’ll own up to it.
I just simply do not understand how our players get hurt so stinking much and I wonder just exactly how much our strength and conditioning has to do with it.
I don’t believe this snake bitten BS. There’s an underlying reason or issue and it needs to be addressed and resolved.
I know teams suffer injuries but not to this extent.
Napier’s problem is stubbornness plain and simple. He is dead set in believing that he and he alone can run his offense.
I don’t understand this “Process” business he keeps referring to and I honestly don’t think he really has a process.
If I had to guess then I would guess it’s the simple notion that every single player on every single play must do exactly what he envisions for the play to be successful.
The problem with that mindset is he tries to determine how the defense “should” respond to the play and the problem with that is it doesn’t work that way.
His offense is boring and leaves little to the imagination.
I hate to see him fired I really do but there is no scenario in which I personally see him being successful.
I have blasted the hire from the get go and I will own up to that fact. Being a Gator fan since 1978/79 I have seen the ups and downs and I have seen coaches roll in and roll out.
Just being a position coach or assistant coach under Sabin doesn’t make you any more successful than going into McDonald’s makes you a hamburger.
I wanted him to be successful I really did because I’m sick and tired of the hiring and firings but I had serious doubts from the start. Does that make me an expert?????? No !!! Absolutely not. It was just a gut feeling.
Who should Florida hire ????? Don’t ask me because it’s not my responsibility but I know some things I would be checking on and that’s experience, football acumen, recruiting experience, people experience, and most importantly a driven and I mean driven desire to succeed and be successful. A coach who cares more about developing and building character and teaching fundamentals. A coach who not only understands what a rivalry is but gets involved in the history of the rivalry and learns to let it eat at him and drives him towards winning the game for pride in the University.
Imagine if Florida had a real staff complete with a strength and conditioning staff and players could build up a not be weakling toothpicks.
Name one…..just one team in the NCAA that has players getting hurt like Florida
Florida needs a hospital staff traveling with them.
Then there’s Florida
Nowhere to go but down figuratively and literally
All our players are in triage
Those cops were doing the same thing to Florida fans in the stands that Georgia football players were doing to Florida players on the field.
Maybe if Florida had a strength and conditioning program and a coach to run it they’d be able to put up a better fight.
Florida players on the field looked like a bunch of wimps. Just about every other play one of them would be on the ground.
Looked like a bunch of Georgia men beating up a bunch of Florida boys.
Napier needs to either get fired or go get him some men.
Or Shands Hospital could send a triage team out to the locations of the games.
Really??????????
“ He went vanilla because his redshirt freshman third string quarterback was not prepared”
Golly I wonder who is responsible for him not being prepared??????
Maybe it’s the cheerleading coach who’s responsible. Maybe the water boy failed was it his????
We surely can’t hold the HEAD COACH responsible can we ???????????
Count how many georgia has riding the bench. 4 and 5 star players at that. Then show us what billy has.
You’re right the Gators didn’t blow it….they quit.
I’ve never seen a bunch of weaklings playing football as I watched today. These sissy defensive backs were dropping like flies. Lagway……nobody touched him. Wide receivers laying out and soon to hit the portal. Quitters all of them because in a game of this magnitude you give it your all. You don’t run to the locker room wanting attention.
I've been with Florida for two years. I went through that whole process of rebuilding, it's kind of still rebuilding," Etienne said
So I said, I can stay running back two on a losing team or go somewhere and possibly be running back one and win a natty."
Still rebuilding !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is why Napier needs to be fired immediately
I hope Rashada wins his lawsuit against Napier and this university fires him for cause and cleans house. That’s what it’s going to take to get rid of him.
Did anyone see the travel stipend georgia gets vs what Florida gets for the two years from now?
They bent SS over and went deep and apparently he enjoyed it because he agreed to the amount.
Why would any Gator fan even want Napier to keep his job and this idiot “process” ????
Our best hope is a blowout but just scoring enough to indicate a beating is georgia’s best interest. That would make the Mo Ron SS give brain dead a contract extension
Hopefully this is Napier’s last game coaching at Florida.
It’s just time for a real coach.
There are only two matchups that even matter in this game
Kirby vs Napier
and
Florida’s offensive right side vs Georgia’s defense
Nobody in their right mind can say Florida has the advantage in either case.
All Florida fans can hope for is that it’s bad enough to get Napier and this “process” canned.
Understand this as an absolute certainty Billy Napier will never and I will repeat NEVER beat a Kirby Smart led football team.
The mental acuity difference is astounding.
Billy doesn’t have a clue as to what a rivalry is, he’s just a lost cause at Florida as a head coach.
I want Florida to win but it’s simply not going to happen.
My hope and unfortunately you people will accuse me of not being a Florida fan but tough luck, my hope is that it’s bad enough he gets canned immediately after the game.
Georgia on the other hand will probably hold the score down in order to convince the useless Scott Stricklin to give him a pay raise and an extension.
Who gives a rats rear end about what Napier has to say about future game locations. Hopefully he won’t be involved in anything associated with the Gators or the athletic department. The next four games should be the end of this stupid process junk.
Good bye and good riddance Napier
Anyone who thinks Florida has a chance in this game is delusional. Kirby Smart could have his entire first string defense out and still beat a Napier led team.
That’s not hyperbole in the least.
Nobody and I mean Nobody can actually believe Napier will ever beat Georgia.
The man is a complete incompetent excuse for a head football coach.
Billy Napier knows all about Mario’s Crystal Balls, he found out the very first game.
Hopefully the next few games send Billy right where he needs to be which is a permanent vacation in Siberia.
The Georgia game will be the start, Kirby needs style points to position his team for the playoffs and what better way than his annual beating of Billy’s one brain cell.
I’ll call it now Georgia wins by 21 at least.
And our Gators have beaten who?
As a Gator fan I just don’t get this pointing out the failings of ANY other team when our head coach is the singular most incompetent coach out there.
Win something and then run our mouth but until then we are no better.
The whole world is laughing at them??????
How about the whole world is laughing at them and the Gators for sticking with Billy Napier for 3 freaking years.
I hate fsu as much as anyone but when you’re in the same boat it’s best not to be shooting holes at your rival.
Like Cignetti, Elko also in Year 1. Like Cignetti, he’s about to exceed first-year expectations, too.
Here’s the key difference, though: Elko had a much higher bar to clear, in a much tougher landscape, too.
Both of these guy make Napier look like the idiot of the year. Oh wait idiot of the past 3 years
Hopefully this will be both him ElStupidio Scott last season.
Which would immediately qualify him to be a starter for Billy Napier at Florida
Florida football's 4-star DL commit lines up 6 official visits
It’s starting and won’t end Lagway will leave as well along with a host of others
StlGator thanks for saying I was right and doc you are wrong because if you’ll go back and check I’ve said Billy Napier is a good man and a good father and a good mentor. I never said I hated the man I said he is NOT an SEC level head coach. Never was and never will be. He’s over his head. I’ll be watching for your reply to correct your comment about me hating him.
By the way I haven’t posted much because I’ve been cleaning up storm damaged. My wife and I were VERY VERY FORTUNATE to have survived. We had massive trees to fall in three different directions. The fourth direction would have taken our home out.
God is good.
Others were not so fortunate.
The problem with your comment is you are assuming these players will be back at Florida. Apparently you haven’t heard of the portal. A lot and I mean a lot of these guys won’t be playing for Florida next season including Lagway. I don’t see his parents agreeing to him playing under Kiffen if he is the guy. You’re going to see a lot of these receivers leaving as well.
