Missouri gives injury update on QB Brady Cook for South Carolina game
Pyne will definitely be running for his life but Drink is a smart guy and he will set up a game plan to confuse our defense. Unfortunately for him, I think one of our front four goes in hard every play regardless of what RPO is showing. And our front four is usually good enough where just one of them gets the job done.
No worries until week 14. That's when lists matter. SC just has to take care of business in their last three games.
Don't worry about it. If the Cocks win out, the rankings will fix themselves.
If only he had built that team to beat Georgia AND Kentucky/LSU. Ole Miss fans are going to look back on those two losses and scratch their heads for a long, long time.
I had hopes that Pitt would beat Clemson but that was before I learned that Pitt is coached by a moron.
It seems like a really silly mistake for Edwards to make. Good luck to him in his next job but we need smarter people doing our recruiting.
Yes, but are you really calling that your ace card for this game? If you have a healthy Brady Cook, a healthy Connor Tollison, Blake Baker, and home field, I will give you even odds. Under the current circumstances, I don't see Missouri winning this game and it has the potential to be a beatdown. However, South Carolina is known for shooting itself in the foot so I will just say that I expect them to win this one.
The conference is carnage this season and I am ready for more. Let the Aggies beat Texas, UGA beat Tennessee, SC beat Mizzou, and Vandy get one more shock win. Hell, while I am it let us also see Mississippi State get an SEC win and Auburn knock off Bama in the Iron Bowl. Crazy? Yes, but who would have predicted a lot of what has already happened?
We don't deserve to be in the CFP top 12 but it is probably time to crack the top 25. Coach Beamer is doing this for optics and to fire up the team and the fan base. I don't care for rankings until the end of the season and the team just needs to win out. The rankings will take care of themselves.
Agreed but the team stayed on target and has cleaned up a lot of the earlier issues. Coach Beamer has done more than enough to get the green light for a few more years. Coach White and his defensive staff also deserve more time. Hell, I am even fond of Loggains and company now. The offense is improving so the coaching and play calling is getting better.
I hope the Good South Carolina shows up for this Vandy game. The metric of whether an SEC team is any good this season seems to be based on whether you can beat Vandy.
Injuries haven't been kind to their running backs. We might also question whether Bobo is the right OC for UGA. My vote is "No!".
He's been elusive in almost every game. He has good size and speed but he's a redshirt freshman and made some poor decisions and bad throws at key moments in tight games. Tonight he looked ready and the offensive play calling worked better. It also helps that our receivers/tight ends have improved week by week and we are finally getting to know which guys can catch and run.
That's the SEC though. Just when you think it's all downhill...it's actually uphill. Maybe even Mississippi State will get that elusive conference win this season?
It's the best defense top to bottom that I have ever seen at SC and it's a one season unit. Clayton White has a lot of holes to fill for next season. Kudos to Coach Loggains for getting the offense on track and I hope it continues in the last three games. Coach Beamer has done a good job of keeping the team positive for every game even after so many tough losses.
I would love to see SC whoop Clemson this season in their stadium.
Can someone tell me what Coach Freeze is good at? I haven't paid much attention to him over the years so I don't know much about him.
You might also explain why Coach Elko keeps going for it on 4th and One. Does he usually do this or is he telling himself that "It's just Carolina. We can get a yard on them."?
I thought Blake Baker was better than that.
I hope the game will be as good as the atmosphere and expectations. I don't know which South Carolina will take the field. Our defense is always good but not always dominant and our offense is inconsistent. Looking forward to it.
We have no idea whether good South Carolina or bad South Carolina is suiting up for Saturday's game.
I would like to add the South Carolina Defense to this list.
Kentucky below Oklahoma seems a bit off to me but it looks like he went with Win-Loss record so far. I don't think it will end up that way at the end of the season. Oklahoma probably has one win left (Maine), and Kentucky could have three or four more (Auburn, Murray State, and Louisville).
I don't think of Mizzou that way, but we faced them in the SEC East every season and we have a Columbia vs Columbia trophy challenge that they have usually won. If your team was in the SEC West, then I can see why you may not have noticed Mizzou as much.
Coach Beamer's seat isn't hot but there are lots of fans that want him to fire his OC. I'm not sure yet. It is tough to judge this offense when it is so young and makes so many mistakes. The kids have good size, raw talent, and potential. They seem to be improving. Let's see how the last five games go.
I think we'll be flagged for Unnecessary Roughness by our Social Media team. They do a lot of great work but this one seems a poor choice. Kicking them in the nuts when they are already down on the deck?
Oklahoma has a depleted O-Line and receiver corps to support a freshman and a sophomore at quarterback. It's not a winning combination for navigating the SEC. They got the win against Auburn and that might be their only conference win this season since they don't get to face Mississippi State. If Coach Venables can scratch out another SEC win, I will tip my hat to him.
We just have to take whatever we get this season. We don't seem to get a good offense and a good defense in the same year. Coach Beamer may not always look like a champion, but he has shown that he can recruit and he can keep the team motivated. They seem to roll with the punches really well.
He has a $44.8 million dollar buyout so I think he is safe this season. Plus OU has so many injuries to receivers and the O-Line. You might want a new OC though. Arnold was much better than Hawkins and should have started that game. Hawkins kept targeting receivers covered by Emmanwori, which is not smart football. SC's other secondary players are much easier to deal with. I don't know how much of that was Hawkins' decision or whether the coaches failed to tell him not to challenge Emmanwori.
This kid is probably looking to start immediately and we will still have LaNorris Sellers in 2026. Not saying it is impossible that he ends up at Carolina but it looks highly unlikely to me.
