Brady Cook doubtful vs. Oklahoma due to injuries, per report
Brady Cook is doubtful for Missouri’s Week 11 showdown vs. Oklahoma due to multiple injuries, according to a report.
On3’s Pete Nakos broke that news on Friday afternoon, adding that Cook is dealing with hand and ankle injuries. Cook has been dealing with an ankle injury for several weeks now, but he missed the second half of Mizzou’s loss to Alabama after injuring his hand in that game back on Oct. 26.
Mizzou was idle in Week 10, but it seems as though the bye week wasn’t enough time for Cook to get healthy.
Cook’s expected absence has largely been anticipated by the betting markets. After Mizzou opened by as much as a 4-point favorite over Oklahoma on Sunday, the line has moved to OU -3 at most sports betting apps as of Friday afternoon.
With Cook slated to miss the game, it’s expected that Mizzou will turn to Drew Pyne to start at quarterback on Saturday. Pyne really struggled in his last game against Alabama. He threw for 42 yards and 3 interceptions on 12 pass attempts in a shutout loss to the Crimson Tide.
Mizzou will be hoping to get a much better performance out of the former Notre Dame starter on Saturday vs. the Sooners. Kickoff is set for 7:45 p.m. ET on Saturday night.
Drinkwitz is to blame for not lining up a competent backup QB. He gambled and now Mizzou loses big. Will get a token bowl game, and there will be notable opt-outs.
What are you talking about?
Pyne was one of the best options available in the portal off season.
And everyone was “bring in Pyne” every time cook struggled early in the season.
Can’t help he hasn’t panned out when he became needed. Add to it the Sam Horn injury, (if he hadn’t had to have surgery this would’ve been his team to lead now) — it’s mostly bad luck with the QB situation.
But tell us, who else could Drink have realistically gotten out of the portal? Talk about Monday morning QBing.. your statement is the perfect example
Lots of football teams have healthy quarterbacks and run the ball anyway. Interceptions are often game losers. Drinkwitz spent two scholarships and probably some NIL on big statistic running backs, Isn’t it past time to let them have more fun than the QB. NO THIS IS JUST A PESSIMISTIC NEWS MEDIA STORY WITH NO FUTURE AS A WRITER. Not an inventory of what Drinkwitz should be orchestrating !!!!!!!
