Brady Cook won’t be able to lead a 2nd-half comeback this Saturday. At halftime, Mizzou ruled its starting quarterback out for the rest of Saturday’s game at Alabama.

Cook dealt with an ankle injury in last week’s game at Auburn. He was initially considered doubtful for the Alabama game, but made the start in the top-25 showdown in Tuscaloosa. His 2nd half absence is due to a different.

Cook left the game in the 1st half and was spotted going to the locker room. The ABC broadcast revealed that Cook visited the Alabama locker room to have x-rays taken on his throwing hand.

ABC reporter Katie George shared that she spoke with Eli Drinkwitz about Cook’s injury before the start of the 2nd half. Drinkwitz told George that the injury to Cook’s hand was “severe enough” to keep him out of the game.

In limited action, Cook was 7-of-12 passing for 30 yards. The Tigers have turned to Drew Pyne in Cook’s absence. Pyne completed 2 of his first 5 passes for 12 yards, committing a costly turnover. An interception thrown to Alabama’s Malachi Moore set the Crimson Tide up on the Mizzou 35-yard line. UA needed only 3 plays to score its first TD of the game.

In the 2nd half, Alabama has added another touchdown to make it a 20-0 game and Pyne has thrown a 2nd interception to give the ball back to the Tide with 8:36 remaining in the 3rd quarter. The game is airing on ABC.
