Le'Veon Moss injury: Mike Elko provides new update on star RB
Le’Veon Moss will miss the remainder of Texas A&M’s season after suffering a lower-body injury against South Carolina on Saturday night.
Moss collided with a South Carolina defender near the sidelines in the first half against the Gamecocks this weekend. He was immediately taken into the blue medical tent on A&M’s sideline and was eventually carted off the field.
Elko initially told reporters that Moss’s injury wasn’t as bad as it appeared on the field, but it will still cost him the rest of the 2024 season.

It’s a devastating loss for Texas A&M, who now has very little margin-for-error as it fights for a College Football Playoff berth down the stretch. A&M may need to win out — including a Week 14 clash against Texas — in order to receive a spot in the 12-team field.
Texas A&M will be exceptionally thin at running back moving forward with Moss sidelined. Amari Daniels, who played well in Moss’s absence vs. South Carolina, is expected to receive the bulk of the work. EJ Smith, son of NFL legend Emmitt Smith, is the only other healthy scholarship running back on the team.
It’s unclear at this point if A&M will consider moving a player from a different position to running back for the final stretch run in order to help with the depth at that position. Texas A&M is off in Week 11 and will face New Mexico State in Week 12.
I think I would rather see DiNota than Smith. Smith has not shown anything so far.
This could wear Daniels down. They may need to start using Bussey more at halfback.
I agree with you on this. I love how much Amari has improved this year, but he will need breaks. Need another someone who can run fast through many holes. And when there are not holes, to make holes. Next man up. To my eye DiNota has seemed to run the toughest. Though DiNota’s minutes have been against arguably weaker opponents. Smith has good lateral movement and patience, with a good burst in holes, but he seems to get bottled up easily. Not sure if that is a scheme issue for his style. They say Smith has more potential in the passing game. Have not compared blocking abilities. If any freshman seems ready, it’s Bussey. There are other options too. We will see what the coaches choose. They get to see them every day in practice. Much respect and gratitude to Moss for his work this year, and I wish him the best in his recovery. Gig’em!
I hate to hear it. The kid ran with abandon.
Tough loss, a great hard nosed player and clearly one of the premier backs in the SEC this year. Wishing him a full and complete recovery…
Can anyone tell me what the apostrophe in Le’Veon stands for?
Very talented RB. Praying for his full healing, he has a good future ahead of him.
