SEC Week 12 Primer: Down to its last strike, Georgia’s survival means dragging Tennessee back to the pack
Not sure why everyone is so up on the Dawgs winning this one. They haven't played 4 qtrs of good football all year, and it's only gotten worse as the season's gone on. Last week was pitiful. I haven't watched UT all year, but can't imagine they've looked worse than UGA...
There are definitely some position coaches that need a hard evaluation. Coley, Searels, Robinson, Bobo.
Yeah, I don't get the line either. UGA has done nothing lately to make me think they win this game. Hoping being at home will spark some life back into this team.
Obviously, SOS and wins against ranked teams don't mean too much.
FSU built a one year, title contender last year in the portal, but just look at them this year...
Gameday coming to Athens is the kiss of death....
I don't see how anyone could objectively pick UGA over UTjr, after that kind of performance.... but I said the same thing heading into the UTx game... only feel worse this time... There is something wrong with the mental toughness of this team. Everyone is regressing, every position group.
I'll give him a lot of credit for shaking off all the bad throws, dropped balls, and playing well at the end of these pick-fests, but... This is the QB that Carson seemed to be prior to last year. Tons of potential, but inconsistent accuracy, and prone to throwing some really bad picks into coverage, trying to be a superstar. I thought all the time waiting behind Bennett had paid off last year, but he's regressing in a lot of areas this year. Just my opinion.
UGA better come to play in Jax. Time to stop dropping the ball, and play with some consistency going into the final stretch.
Too much scheme...
There isn't a metric that favors UGA in this game. Only a homer like me would pick them to win.
UGA hasn't been at full strength all year... sucks, but that's football.
UGA just hasn't progressed enough to this point. Really inconsistent play by different position groups, at different times. Not very disciplined. Poor tackling. They haven't played 60 mins of good football so far. They could beat UT, but I wouldn't count on it.
I'm not sure how you justify some of these power rankings.
Miami paying some refs this season.... should have 2 L's.
LOL at leaving the Orange Bowl score off....
how's them apples?
I'd be surprised if UGA won by 24. Seems like a pretty big line for a rivalry game, that's historically usually a pretty tight game. AU is not as bad as they seem, statistically, but the turnovers...
This whole thing is just a stopgap to a new NFLjr super league eventually anyway.
Granted he's no Monken in creativity, but that's a weird take away from Saturday, considering they came back from 28-0, and had a chance to win in the end. What about Shuman? They went through the D like there was zero game prep in the first half.
I don't know if Bama came in with an offensive game plan that wasn't on film yet, or what, but UGA's defensive game plan was a head-scratcher to put it nicely. Dudes running wide open on every play. The entire team was obviously not mentally prepared for the moment, but proud of the way they fought back.
Just about the only people picking UGA to win, with very few exceptions, is Vegas odds makers. I'm certainly not that optimistic after the UK game, but we'll see what happens. UGA has enough dudes to get it done, but they'll have to play up to potential, which is easier said than done. I definitely think UGA has way more pressure to get this win, with way more implications than just the playoff, namely head to head recruiting going forward.
^^^ Pat mcAfee burner account....
They would be big additions to the lineup, but only if they're good to go. Don't need a Bowers repeat, where he came back too soon, and messed up the end of the season by tweaking it again.
nothin' but class, this guy...
hopefully... UGA better have figured out their Oline issues, tackling at the point of contact, and edge containment.
That's why the UK game last week was the perfect timing for a reality check. They all know they can't play like that next week, and still win. I don't know if they have the special chemistry, as a team, that it takes to go the distance, but we'll soon find out where they stand.
I question if CU and FSU really wanted to leave the ACC, as much as they wanted to renegotiate contracts.
It doesn't matter who they pick, finding the secret sauce in coaching hires is like picking lottery numbers. Maybe they work, more likely they don't.
