Nico Iamaleava injury update: Tennessee medical staff makes decision for UGA game, per report
Very good news for Nico and the team. Now let’s see how he handles being on the road for a night game. Plus throw in a proud program that was wounded last week and has their backs against the wall. Heupel tried to hide him the last time. There is no place to hide tomorrow night. He will have to perform to take away the obvious emphasis on the running game. Our defense will need some help in staying off the field. It’s show time. Go Vols!
Starts off with an error. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I’m pretty sure DP was a defensive end at UGA. He moved to LB in the NFL.
Agree. UGAs issues have occurred mostly, if not always, on the road. We know crowd noise can make a big difference. I expect this to be the case in Sanford.
It’s starting to look like Kirby might just have been proce$$ing
GFA, this is not a Vol fan but a human (I think) hemorrhoid. Yet for some reason real posters keep conversing with them.
Oklahoma as well.
I hope you’re correct Conner.
I’ve been around for a lot of years and can’t remember such parity top to bottom. Plus, this is with a 16 team conference. Going to be really interesting to see how it plays out.
If our offense can ever get out of its own way we will be a very powerful team. While we wait impatiently thank goodness for an excellent defense.
Congrats Gamecocks!
And I’ll second Fuzzy on WB at night. Not just upsets but beat downs.
Agree. Any given Saturday.
I really thought Stoops was going to keep UK at a consistent 8-9 wins a year with the occasional upside surprise. Last night was a huge setback. UK has landed highly regarded transfer QBs 2 years in a row, but neither has worked.
Side note… Mrs. VAVOL1 and I were at Malone’s Hamburg location last night after a great day at Keeneland. We stepped into the sports bar area around mid way through the 3rd quarter. All TVs but one were on the Cats game but the bar was half empty. Bad coaching is one thing, but fan apathy is another.
Add me to this train. Congrats Vandy! Well deserved.
No you aren’t. But I hope you really mean our passing game. The running game is pretty solid.
I will take this opportunity to say that I finally will agree that our defense is elite. The secondary is very much improved and they still have much room for improvement, but regardless of the quality of the offenses we have faced, our defense has bailed out our offense time and again.
For this old Vol there is nothing, NOTHING like beating Alabama. It wasn’t pretty, but pretty doesn’t matter. Light em up guys and gals. Go Vols!
Coach Bennett is respected at such a level here in the Old Dominion that there will not even be a thought of questioning his decision. Things have changed drastically and men at his level of integrity (and there are very very few) just don’t fit.
Neyland makes the difference with Milroe making one more mistake than Nico. Vols by 7.
Right there with you. Here’s to an great injury free game.
Sure hate to read this. Best wishes for a speedy and full recovery.
*Connor
Nice article Conner.
Always hate to see these young men get injured. Best wishes for a speedy and full recovery.
tOSU QB is a 5th year player. Nico is in his 1st. Nico’s play was unacceptable, but tOSU’s made it a little easier to understand.
Injuries are part of the game but you guys have experienced way more than your fair share. Very few teams, if any, would be any better given equal numbers of injuries. Hang in there.
^ Agree with you 100%
The only thing I can offer is what helped me get to sleep last night. Just keep thinking how bad it would have felt if we had lost. Also, the OSU QB on their last play helped too!
Safe travels and Go Vols!
Tennessee’s defensive strength is between the tackles. They had stopped the Gators once already on fourth down on a run up the middle. I don’t see how it was a bad call. It just didn’t work. This happens in sports.
I was wondering how many Gator fans had mixed feelings about the possibility of the Gators winning
