SEC Network hosts discuss whether tough schedules will keep SEC teams out of CFP
UTK and the great pumpkin haven't been up, so they can't even go down. Well, I lied, you go down very well, all the fraternities say so.
His team had just gotten the snot beaten out of them and he is out their hopping around like he was watching the chest of some coeds bounce wildly. What could possibly make him so happy that he could put such a resounding defeat behind him that quickly? He was an idiot.
UGA has the talent, and once they get to the postseason the experience, to be very dangerous in a single game scenario. I would choose UGA last from those on the list. That being said you have to look at it as a whole, and UGA seems to have too many problems on offense to not have an off game in the playoffs. Though on the plus side, this is one of those years that pretty much every team has flaws.
UGA has no depth at RB, their O-line is playing well below expectations, their QB is throwing INTs, and is also under regular duress, and their receivers are not playing to expectations. All of these, in concert, makes it very difficult to lay the blame at Beck's feet alone. It also makes it an almost impossible feat to get them all fixed going into the post season.
Georgia could be right back in after this weekend. Then we will be talking about the team they beat being out.
It is hard to believe, but I have read Lincoln Riley's name mentioned for possible openings in the NFL as soon as this off season. Maybe the pro game is better suited for him than college, because it is just fact that he has never met expectations, and he opts for what appears to be the easiest path. That has not work out too well for him at USC.
He said that he is entirely grateful and indebted to the SEC office for giving ut such an easy schedule for their first 2 years in the conference. That it gives them a chance to get their feet on the ground and build hope among the fanbase, bring in donations, and get publicity, before reverting back to normal.
Could you kindly translate this into English?
I don't think it matters. I think USCe wins this game. They seem to be playing as good as any team in the conference right now, and that defense is legit.
This article reminds me of when I was in high school, and the teacher said they wanted an essay with so many words, so they were filled with stuff that didn't matter just to eek out a paper with the correct length.
I don't see the SECCG ever going away. Very rarely do they ever give back money once it is coming in. This game brings in a huge amount of money and attention which in some cases is better. Yeah, this game may keep some teams out, but it may also get some teams in by beating top competition late in the season, which would be a wash. This game is typically a game with a high viewer rate, I doubt ESPN would be too happy to lose this game. But who knows, the people running college football have done crazier things.
Leg, both Bryant and Saban said the hardest thing to do is to coach kids through their own success. The more success they have, the harder it is to get them to mentally, emotionally and physically prepare. They get to thinking showing up is all that's needed. UGA has had massive success the last few years, and that success is probably the greatest thing wrong with the team, as they certainly have talent. As for JT's comment below, His teammates may not have a problem with it because they are basically kids, and they have the same problem, yet they can't see it. In a few years they will be able to see it, but they will need the distance of a few years to be able to honestly access what happened. UGA is not out of it at this point, they will be if they lose to UT I think. That being said, and you know I am not trying to flame, I don't think UGA is good enough to win the CFPs. There are just too many problems.
To be honest, I think this is just a rant for a rant's sake. Right this minute I can see no playoff without UGA. They have their flaws, but so does everyone else. The thing is that this will fix itself if they win this weekend. If they don't, they are out with 3 losses prior to post season play. So, they control their own destiny. My complaint is with teams like Penn State, one ranked team played, and they lost. Indiana no ranked teams played, and they will only play one the whole regular season. BYU has played 2. Too many of these highly ranked teams have had worse than a cupcake schedule.
I hate it for the kid. Losing an experienced starting center is a tough blow for any team.
Jerry Jones has always thrown too much money at a couple of pets. This leaves the pets without adequate surrounding talent, leaving the Cowboys watch the Super Bowl while sitting on the couch with their friends for almost 3 decades.
GEEZE! You seem pretty toxic yourself and like to stir a defecation filled pot. Kane Wommack was never looked at as an underachieving coordinator destined for the bread line sooner than later, and as a toxic fly that infiltrated the ointment of greatness that is Alabama football. There were never any pitch forks out for him. Every Alabama fan knew that the defense was going to be behind the offense and that the offense may have to bail out the defense this season. They knew that because of the large number of losses to the NFL, to graduation, and to the transfer portal after Saban retired. They also knew it because Saban himself said that it was Bama's weakness, especially the secondary. All of this before you take into consideration they were learning a new scheme. Bama had talent on defense, but it was extremely young, and depth is an issue at some spots. Wommack was never blamed for it, other than maybe a few of the brain deceased fanbase.
There is a lot of truth in this statement. Then you add the Notre Dame bump, and they made the playoffs a few times. Where they promptly showed they didn't belong.
Yeah, Pruitt will probably still be on the list when I am dead and buried. Just looked and the soonest that Pruitt can coach and the school not have to show cause is 2029.
It isn't a question of whether you are Georgia through and through. It is a question of how seriously you take playing football for a major player on the national scene. Taking a loss and putting yourself in a place that could keep your team out of the playoffs should not be an occasion for jumping with joy. Speaking to them and patting them on the back is one thing, but feeling any joy at all after the turd UGA dropped is not acceptable.
Dang, I didn't know that. Matt really hit that left turn.
It is SDS. I have never read any type of journalistic site that cared less about English and grammar.
I wonder what effect the transfer portal and revenue sharing combined is going to have on the haves and have nots. I have read that it could start as soon as next season. This is going to give the SEC and the BIG10 a huge advantage, in my estimation, as they make a lot more money to share.
Whatever place you get your stats forgot that Jihaad Campbell intercepted a pass in the endzone. It may just be that you forgot to mention it, but it seems that it would improve his defensive stats.
At first look, having Bama that high in your power rankings seems wrong. Then you think that Bama has beaten 4 of the current top 25 teams, lost to a great, highly ranked UT team, and lost to Vandy which is not as bad as it was with Vandy already bowl eligible. Then you look at the polls again and realize that Penn State has played one ranked team all season and got beaten, Indiana has not played a ranked team all year. they are not alone at being ranked highly and having played one ranked team and being in the top 15, BYU, SMU, and Boise State join them I believe.
There is a big difference between criminal charges and Title IX charges. One requires probable cause that a crime has been committed, this probable cause is obtained through a police reports, witness statements, physical evidence, and other things. The other, the Title IX complaint only needs a person to file a formal complaint. They need not show, or have, any evidence that the complaint is fact based.
Too bad that great things do not always happen to apparently good people. Sam Pittman seems like a genuinely good guy, I would like to see him be successful. Though he is judged by wins and losses, so I don't see him making it. I hope I am wrong.
Not only do you seem to have a love affair going for yourself DW but you also suck at math. If Billy Cannon's run happened in 1959, that was not 68 years ago. I just happen to know because I was born in 1959 and will turn 65 in 3 weeks.
If they were 9-0 they would have beaten the 2 best teams on their schedule. Teams that are ranked. Instead they got completely blown out by the only teams with a pulse on their schedule and in one did not score a point. Missouri is a good team, and that is all they are.
If you think journalist are ethical, or even care about appearing ethical, then you have not been paying attention.
Leg, all that gave me a headache. Beck is not a championship QB, I said that a few weeks ago, but it is tough to be a championship QB when you are running for your life or getting sacked. The O-line has been an issue.
