Really happy for him...and for us! All during his time at Alabama, all I heard were negative comments from their fans. I'm glad it worked out the way it has. He was a much better coach than they ever gave him credit for being.
Most of our SEC brothers can't handle the truth.
It's called bias. Whatever credit we receive, we ALWAYS have to earn. But that's okay. Records speak for themselves.
It's okay. Positive news stories never hurt!
He's not wrong, BUT the simple truth is we didn't make those plays. We now have two losses where there could have been none. Hopefully, they will play with a focused mindset on Saturday.
Can't you just see the personal injury lawyer's television ads now???
Appreciate the "back-handed" love for Harris, BUT Watkins gave the best impression of "Jordan Watkins." He's been underused this season, but the guy can flat out play. Here's hoping BOTH get to shine on Saturday.
Obviously, you've never been there at night. It makes a difference. And for that matter, Neyland and everywhere in the conference.
Actually, it really does. Elko is doing a terrific job this year. Reminds me a lot of Sam Pittman at Arkansas, and I mean that as a compliment.
Ri-g-gh-ght... Would have respected him more had he just owned his comments. Now he just sounds like a politician.
If we don't play with the same emotion and intensity as displayed in the second half of the OU game, we won't win. We will get the very best from Arkansas. Bank on it.
He's not wrong, BUT he's also not right. Those plays did happen, and we had several chances to close those games out. That didn't happen, so now there is zero margin for error to even make the playoffs. If we don't focus on Arkansas, that margin disappears Saturday.
Appreciate the candor and enthusiasm, but he may want to pump the brakes a bit. There are many good football programs in the SEC.
Eventually, everyone has to finish the course. I'm glad the young man was able to walk away with no regrets. Best wishes to him in his life!
Don't care for our "fake" injuries either, but there were a few phantom injuries in your game last night as well. That's a problem that really needs to be corrected. Glad you pointed out the "off-field driving arrests" of Georgia players. Good to know someone who supports UGA is at least knowledgeable of current events.
Really? The officiating was bad both ways. Personally not a fan of Texas, or Georgia for that matter. However, the sanctimonious, self-righteous attitude of Georgia is comical. Nobody robbed anybody. The actions of the fans were dangerous and inexcusable. Someone could have been hurt or injured, and there should be some accountability and punishment. With that said, where has the AD indignation been with the off-field actions of his team's players? It's a little hypocritical.
Officiating is bad all over, but some groups are worse than others. Although I've never seen an instance when a PI call was reversed after discussion, I believe they actually got it right. A no-call was the right interpretation in my opinion. It was a bad, back shoulder pass thrown directly to the defensive back.
Understand your frustration with the season, but just let the young man go. He wasn't going to be part of the solution, so it's best for him - and Ole Miss - to just leave now. Staying with that attitude would not have helped the locker room. IMO
Possible, but it's much easier said than done. This team is talented, but we've yet to see much emotion. If they can somehow find that spark, they could yet be dangerous. We'll see.
Our smiles have faded to sheer anger and frustration. We lost two winnable games by three points each. If the team can somehow channel that to an on-field performance, Ole Miss is STILL a very dangerous team. Aside from the Kentucky debacle, it took EVERYTHING LSU had to win that game. A very large part of that credit should go to their fan base for insane support.
Don't you just love NIL and the transfer portal??? He only came for the money, so it makes perfect sense for him to leave. You can't blame him though, it's just the way things are in college football today.
Agree both losses have been close, BUT with this team, both were winnable. Our in-game adjustments were absent on both occasions. We lost to Kentucky on 4th and seven, and we did it again against LSU. We're relying on the front four, and sometimes three, for a pass rush, and it's simply not getting the job done. Sometimes, we are just painful to watch.
Congrats to LSU. Better game plan on both sides of the ball.
Not too sure about that. Either way, coaches have lost their jobs for less. Really a bad look for Smart.
Congrats on the win, but I have to disagree with you on the "drop 8" comment. Once your QB realized his five or often six could block our three, he settled down and took what was available for the most part. It still baffles me why DC's use this bend but don't break, prevent defense. I much prefer you DC's approach - blitz, blitz and try to make a play! It was the single biggest difference in the game.
You are so right! Mystery why we continued to rush three and drop eight. Early on I thought we really made your QB uncomfortable. Then we decided to drop eight, play prevent defense, and lose. Credit to LSU - they didn't stop pushing the ball. It may have been risky, but your DC kept blitzing the entire game. It was the difference IMO.
Trust me, most of our fans don't care for the practice either. IMO it's actually hurt us with more penalties being called against us. Refs can't penalize phantom injuries, but they sure can call it closely on everything else - and they have! We're not the only team that does it, but I certainly wish we would stop.
