Fuzzy, if you'll remember UT lit up Bama also in that 2nd half. I know, I'm splitting hairs here, but again I think the UT Defense travels and plays well enough to give UT a shot. Either way it's fun to finally be within grasp of taking down a juggernaught at home. GBO!
I agree with you, the -10.5 line is shocking. I have a very hard time seeing Uga being able to successfully move the ball against UT.
I'm a little more optimistic about this game. The UT defense is VERY Solid. In fact, it is very similar to Ole Miss D, if not better in many aspects. I think UT can bottle up UGa, and force Beck to throw, which as we have seen is not good for UGa. The big thing is, can this UT team get over the hump on the road? Athens, as any place in the SEC is a tough place to play. The 2022 game showed many UT fans that. I could see this game kinda going the Oklahoma game route. OK back in week 5 still had as solid a Defense as any team, and UT was able to do enough to get ahead there. UGa's offense is light years ahead of OK's, so it's gonna be a close game. Just like UGa, UT is in a back's against the wall scenario. Give me the Vols, 24-17.
I’ve seen some special walk on QBs in my lifetime, ironically….
And this is what the other conferences that Texas was in were saying about them when we let them in the SEC. The bias for Texas is unreal. They literally have the weakest quality win of any SEC team. Their best win is against a 4 loss Vandy team. Tennessee should be ranked where Texas is at this week. I know Kirby will use the just out of playoff scenarios but Heupel has just as strong a case on that as well…
I thought and many would agree that UGA had one of the weakest schedules in all of college football in 2023. That being said, they have certainly stepped that up in 2024. I certainly think SOS should be considered, but 3 losses is the straw that breaks the camels back, in terms of considering SOS.
From what I have seen, the national media is not second guessing CKS. I see at least 90% of all the media picking UGa over UT. Personally, I think its gonna be a tight game and more of a 50 / 50 chance for both teams. I think the UT team is getting second guessed more, and maybe rightfully so based on recent history, BUT recent history won't mean much come Saturday...
This is why we watch college football. GO BIG ORANGE!!!
I agree, why would anyone have Ugay over UT in this one...
The UT Defense should be ready for the UGa offense. I just can't see the UGa offense being able to do much here. On the other hand, does the UT offense show up? This could be a low scoring game.
And I want UF to get back competitive. I don’t like seeing any fanbase go through what we did at UT. Trust me I know a dumpster fire when I see one. UF needs a strong AD, plain and simple.
Biggest quack writer on SDS. This might as well be a UF website page. No mention of Nico going out? No mention of really any team other than the dumpster fire at UF.
That was a butt kicking. Meanwhile no articles on UT’s win over MSU. Come on SDS, do better….
I like Pavia and all, but he’s not the best player in the SEC. That would go to Dylan Sampson.
Good article with a lot of truth in it. They definitely remember what you do in November. The sports media is as guilty of being caught in the moment as any. Also, what does Dylan Sampson have to do to get at least a mention at the Heisman. He is on pace to BREAK the ALL TIME SEC rushing record? Maybe he has to have a Historic November...
Another question to ponder is say LSU makes the SECCG and loses dropping them to 10-3. Do they make the Playoffs?
2-2 against Bama is nothing to sneeze at Bengal, you know that...Heck UGa has gone 1-3 in that time frame...Heupel is on schedule or ahead in my opinion.
With a win, LSU would also still be in the hunt for the SECCG. I don't think that was mentioned in the article. If I had to pick, I think I will go with the home team here.
Got to have a little fun with you guys. Love the over reactions from some. West Coast Kid will find out what real football is. Good Get.
I think 10-2 gets the Vols in, as their will be more teams lose, BUT to ensure a playoff we need to win out. That would also ensure UT going to ATL.
This looks about right. I would have AM over LSU but that’s drawing straws at this point.
I agree that a 3 loss team just doesn’t make the playoffs this year.
