Milroe is the best running back Alabama has. They just need to use him that way. He can throw some quick slants and other things to mix it up. Bama does not have elite WRs this year. I think Beck should be on the bench. I can't believe Kirby does not have a viable backup option.
How is Florida going to a bowl game? If the beat FSU they will only be at 5 wins. They are not going to beat LSU or Ole Miss.
The real joke is that Wrigley Field is barely a regulation football field. One end zone is very dangerous. Not sure why they can't play at Soldier Field if they want a Chicago game.
This is the best college football site on the internet by far. I grew up near Gainesville and I suffer. My daughter went to IU and it is nice to see them win after decades of futility. There is more to college football than Georgia and Alabama.
I am not sure Napier is the guy I would have chosen a few years ago, but Florida needs to give him at least another year. They will never get the team stabilized if they fire the coach every few years.
My daughter went to Indiana, and we are happy when they are relevant every 40 years or so. I think they can beat Michigan, but not Ohio State. The 12 team playoff will provide some great matchups, but also some blowouts. I feel sad for the Gators, they seem snakebit this year. Hopefully they will pound FSU in a few weeks.
I think Kirby will be hosting the national championship trophy this year.
My daughter went to IU, so we are happy they are relevant every 40 years or so. Every team plays the teams on their schedule. I do recall Washington was in the Natty in January, so who knew they would be so mediocre? Michigan was relevant in January also. Let's just be happy the Big is more than just Michigan and Ohio State. The bigger the bowl game, the bigger the payout. No one thinks they are a top 4 team, but let's just enjoy the fun of College Football.
Maybe Vanderbilt is better than everybody thinks. There is no reason for them not to have a competitive team. Stanford and Northwestern have all had better football teams over the years than Vandy.
You are playing against one of the weakest teams in D1. There is no takeaway.
Respectfully, I think Saban needs to leave the building and resign completely from UA. He can spend his time on ESPN Gameday and selling insurance and other things. He is not helping DeBoer or the team by hanging around. He left at the right time, but he needs to completely leave.
With NIL and the parity around the country, we are going to see one and possibly two loss teams in the final 12.
Bro, our best win was UCF, so I am not sure we should be talking. Hit me back after we beat Tennessee.
Saturdays are certainly very entertaining this year. I think the idea of 2 or 3 teams being head and shoulders above the crowd is gone. ( Ask Alabama, Notre Dame, Michigan, Tennessee and others) I don't think we will see any undefeated teams this year, which is good. My scenario is Alabama still ends up in the top 12. Vandy ends up with a real decent team and goes to a nice bowl game. Vandy is not Mercer, Appalachian State, or some D3 school. As much as this web sight hates Vandy, they are school in the strongest conference in the country. Let's just wait and see before we right any more obituaries.
I think this is going to be a tough one for the Gators. I see them beating FSU and maybe Kentucky and that's about it. I don't know what the answer is. The Gators desperately need stability at the HBC position, but Napier is probably not the right guy. A hard no to Lane Kiffin.
Vandy just seemed to run through the Alabama defense. At the end of the game, number 13 for Alabama kicked the ball and got a personal foul. That kid needs to be running laps around the stadium for the next 3 weeks. That cannot be tolerated and Coach Deboer needs to get his butt in line.
This is a winnable game for the Gators. They need to stop the stupid mistakes, penalties and turnovers. Pound the ball home.
Wow, leaving a top academic program and a top 20 football team for a dumpster fire among the worst SEC schools academically. Good for Auburn, but guess is he is still looking around.
I was very worried about NIL deals and conference realignment, but so far this year, I am thoroughly impressed with the quality of the games. Way too many poor officiating calls and reviews. My guess is this year's top 12 will look a lot like last year's top 12. The final 4 teams will probably be teams that have been in the CFP before.
If only UA could play 4 full quarters of football. They took a vacation for the 2nd and 3rd quarter and still won!
It's only September and I think we have just seen the best game of the year. I really enjoyed it. Thanks SEC! It just means more.
I grew up in FL and ended up going to NIU 40 years ago. I come here for SEC news, but it is always fun to see NIU get coverage. Hopefully, we can get to 9 or 10 wins and go to some 3rd tier bowl in December.
When you lose a game that many thought you win( before the game started), it is not wise to make silly comments like this.
Dalton is a loser. We had him in Chicago years ago. He has earned millions as a backup, but he will never be the number one guy.
This could and should be a plum job. Academically UF is the best public school in the SEC, maybe except UT. It is smack in the middle of a big time football crazy state. The culture and weather is first rate ( I would take Gainesville over Tuscaloosa or Norman or Athens any day). Cost of living is much cheaper than Austin, without the arrogant attitude. They have a great stadium that sits almost on top of the field and is very intimidating. Austin and Knoxville are probably nicer and more hip towns. Expectations are sky high everywhere. Michigan hated Harbaugh until his last week at the school. They hate the coach at Ohio State, even though he wins 12 games a year. The FSU coach won 13 games last year and they are trying to run him out of town. Grow up everybody. These 8 million dollar a year jobs are very tough and you have to win.
Have they identified candidates for the HBC? How secure is the job of the Athletic Director? Do they have a solid interim guy on staff that can turn momentum around? Just firing a guy without a plan is probably how they wound up here. Remember, when Saban quit, they had a guy under contract 2 days later. Love Bama or hate them, they had a very solid plan. Hopefully, somebody has been talking to some big time coaches about this job.
Long suffering Gator fan here. Only Spurrier and Urban Meyer survived this fan base for the past 60 years. Great school, great location, great local high school talent. I don't think Billy is the guy, but the fans and the school have got to give the next ball coach more time and resources to succeed.
Texas and Alabama have impressed me so far. I think Mizzou, TN, and Ole Miss will flop like they always do. It feels like Kirby should have a better QB than Carson Beck, but GA always seems to find a way.
