RealCo, the only thing that is important is recruiting and a bowl game. Both are dependent on Lagway playing or not. But, you are correct that we are not playing for the usual importance of past seasons.

Les, I have came to expect that the administration has been trying hard to stabilize the situation. When Sasse left it created a vacuum. I understand Sasse leaving due to his wife’s health. Here are some of the issues that have to be addressed before moving forward. 1). Interim president 2). Boosters are not satisfied with Stricklin and Napier 3). As Drumlin pointed out below, Mark Robison left and there is no GM in place. 4). RECRUITING has to be stabilized and DJ has to be retained. IMHO, we are finally making a correct decision in the UAA. Stricklin’s letter quietly addresses several issues I mentioned and gives them time to put together the pieces needed to solidify the situation mentioned in the key points above. We need time to get a quality head coach. Ryan Day is who we need and our second choice should be Lane Kiffen. Both of these coaches can recruit and win. Most importantly, they both can recruit S Florida. I hate to admit this but Miami is a problem now. Cristobal has momentum and that’s bad for the SEC and everyone else especially our Gators. The boosters have the money to pull this off but there’s a very strong need to have time to organize the decisions needed for this to take place correctly.

Drumlin, you are correct. I have been thinking the same thing. Please note that the AD’s letter does not specifically address the 2025 season. The administration has to appoint several people into positions that are currently open and are also of great importance. Who would take these roles knowing that the coach of the football program is a lame duck?

The SEC is strong this season. Really good players on most every team. Looking forward to seeing what the Gators can do.

StL, the only way CBN plays DJ is if the team doctor decides he’s not in danger of further injuring the hammy. I don’t believe the doctor would take that risk.

All I want for C hri stm as is a beatdown of the clown college and a bowl game. CBN is in one heck of a spot here. I hope he protects DJ because he has a great future ahead of him. These kids have showed more grit in the middle of adversity than I have seen in a long time. To do what they’ve done with the hardest schedule in the country, coach making decisions that are indefensible, turmoil among the coaches and first and second team quarterbacks and running backs injured is admirable.

Please put in Clay Millen at qb. He has experience at CSU. Use Lagway only if necessary in obvious passing situations. Any a can hand the ball off. Werner was awestruck and Texas will pin its ears back. CBN can’t afford to get Lagway hurt. We are playing for a bowl game now. Lagway shines in a bowl game and we will have momentum going into next season. All I care to see is steady progress and get to a bowl game. CBN is on thin ice all the way around with any decision he makes with Lagway. I would sit him.

StL, not much rain lately in Jax but that’s no excuse.

Very sad for DJ and his future is definitely in the cards for a heisman. Our defense absolutely overwhelmed Carson Beck in the first half. The injury to DJ just decimated the offense and they just got gut punched. They never let up. Very proud of my Gators. Congrats to the puppies and it was a shame that freaking Jax can’t grow a decent patch of grass. Just terrible with the injuries for both side.

Doc, I was forced to give up Moon Pies , not by choice mind you but they quit selling the vanilla here. I am not a banana or chocolate fan so such are the hard knocks of life.
