Greg Sankey clarifies future scheduling plans between SEC, Big Ten programs
Once you throw in the remaining 6 teams (which don’t include the permanent opponents) the schedule will be plenty tough.
I have previously had Tennessee and Vandy, but for this proposal I changed because I think Florida vs. Tennessee is a more intriguing matchup.
Also, for LSU which team would you prefer Ole Miss replacing?
You could sub Arkansas vs. OU for Arkansas vs. Ole Miss.
Texas A&M vs. Ole Miss for Texas A&M vs. Oklahoma
My updated 3-6-6 permanent opponents
Alabama: Auburn, Tennessee, LSU
Auburn: Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi State
Arkansas: Texas, Mizzou, Oklahoma
Florida: Georgia, LSU, Tennessee
Georgia: Florida, Auburn, South Carolina
Kentucky: Tennessee, Vandy, South Carolina
LSU: Texas A&M, Alabama, Florida
Miss St: Ole Miss, Auburn, Vandy
Ole Miss: Miss St, Texas A&M, Vandy
Mizzou: Oklahoma, Arkansas, South Carolina
Oklahoma: Texas, Mizzou, Arkansas
South Carolina: Georgia, Kentucky, Mizzou
Tennessee: Alabama, Florida, Kentucky
Texas: Oklahoma, Texas A&M, Arkansas
Texas A&M: Texas, LSU, Ole Miss
Vandy: Kentucky, Ole Miss, Mississippi State
I would rather go to a 9 team conference schedule than be forced to play a Big Ten team. I would like to play KU every year as our power 5 non-con opponent. I imagine South Carolina would prefer to play Clemson vs. a Big Ten team etc.
Maybe the non-playoff teams could do a SEC Big 10 Challenge at the end of the year instead of the increasing uninteresting bowl games that we have witnessed the past few years.
I have no problem with Drink’s comment
Look good, play good!
MIZ!
10-2 is still possible. A much needed bye week before playing our final 4 games. Need to get healthy.
We are 6-2 and the two losses were on the road to very good Texas A&M and Alabama teams.
We are good, not great…we beat the teams we should but we haven’t been able to beat the top tier teams. Our ranking is appropriate.
It’s none of my business, but that doesn’t look like Texas A&M.
I’m okay with schools having alternate uniforms, but when it’s a complete makeover I am personally not a fan. This is a huge game and A&M will be in a non-traditional uniform:/
Mizzou fans wish we would get back to traditional uniforms but I guess we are just old fashioned and don’t get it.
Good luck Aggies get the win; make our loss to you guys not look quite as bad!
Last 20 games Mizzou has 17 wins & 3 losses. This year we are 6-1
“Mizzou stinks” doesn’t seem to hit the mark.
Maybe you would like to see more dominating wins, but teams are ultimately measured by Wins and Losses. In that category we are doing just fine.
You are crazy if you think Drink is anywhere close to the hot seat. Drink has built so much goodwill he would have to do something egregious to get fired.
I agree, I also thought 10-2 going into the season and still think that is possible.
Arkansas and South Carolina are tougher games this year.
But with my gold color glasses I’m going to make the predictions that Drink and the team get it figured out (too much talent). Drink’s teams always seem to improve as the season goes on. I say we still finish 10-2, winning a bunch of 1 score games.
Everyone from Mizzou and I imagine most other SEC fanbases respects Mark Stoops. He always has a tough team that is prepared.
I always viewed our game with UK as indicator of our team’s year. If we beat UK then our program is in good shape; if we lost we were not where we wanted to be.
if you put a gun to my head I would say Auburn, just because going into the season I would have picked them over Cal and Arkansas for sure and thought a possible win at home vs. OU. They went 0-3 in those games. But Arkansas is better than I thought so there’s that.
You picked us to go 8-4…we are 4-1 we should be 5-1 by the end of the weekend. So unless you think we will finish worse than 3-3 the last 6 games I don’t know how you reconcile us being the most disappointing team ?
Lot’s of football to be played. If we end up 9-3 or better we then we out performed your prediction.
I believe A&M maybe under valued.
Yes we haven’t played our best and at times we looked real ugly but we are about to be 5-1.
If we lose this weekend I will take back my comments lol!
That’s cool. Mizzou is going old school this season too with old school uniforms.
Looking forward to playing Arkansas this year after last year’s mulligan season lol!
I feel like Mizzou fans feel the same way about our uniforms. A big chunk of our fanbase wishes we would settle on a consistent uniform vs. having a different combination every week.
Heck our most traditional uniform combination (fan favorite uniform) we have not sported in two years.
It’s crazy. But maybe we are just too stupid and don’t get it ;) lol!
I’m still a fan of your checker board shoulder pad design that you used to have. That new Wildcat logo doesn’t scream UK.
I do associate the checkerboard pattern to UK and UT.
Just an outsiders thoughts.
Losing on the road in the SEC in a hostile environment happens.
Maybe give it 24 hours lol; the sky is not falling.
We lost, we start over this next week and try to improve to 5-1 and go from there. We have the ingredients, just need to put it together.
We always play better the 2nd half of the season in a big part to Drink’s leadership and the leaders in the locker room. MIZ!
Horrible reversal that started the ball rolling downhill and we didn’t have the composure to overcome it. Back Judge was awful all game and should get scored down big time.
One call should not determine the game but the momentum clearly changed at that moment and we never recovered. Credit A&M and their hostile environment; they never let up.
Vols lost to an unranked Arkansas team that was playing with a backup QB and back up RB.
Maybe you need to work on standing on your own business.
Drink is a good coach and will get the team’s mind right heading into the next game.
Alabama lost to Vandy, Tennessee lost to Arkansas, Ole Miss lost to Kentucky. We lost to a very good Texas A&M in a hostile environment. The sky is not falling.
4-1 with lots of opportunities ahead of us. Flush this one and don’t lets this one loss cause a second loss.
We will be okay. Drink will get the team to flush this one and regroup for next week.
I think many fanbases feel that way. That’s the nature of college football.
College football is a week to week game. Aggies had a great week, Mizzou had a bad week.
We had no breaks, never gained momentum; penalties erased big plays, no calls stalled drives, and we did not handle adversity.
Just a bad day at the office; let’s not over react. Everything is still in front of us. I was at the game, hostile environment and A&M just had more juice than us all day. Felt like a hot summer day and we were a step slow and once the ball started rolling downhill we weren’t able to stop it.
All you Drink haters; watch him rally the guys and have us play inspired football next week.
MIZ!
Thanks. I need to work hard to make friends with one of those Founder’s Club folks it sounds like!
Well it should be easy enough to tell the teams apart. All maroon vs. all white.
It’s going to be a hot one; I guess I would rather be in all white. MIZ!
In Missouri we are enjoying the fall weather. Just made it to Texas and it feels like summer still! Looking forward to experiencing Kyle Field and seeing all of the Aggies traditions. Hopefully we can pull off a tough road win. MIZ!
Look good, Play good! MIZ!
