Sam Pittman met with reporters in Fayetteville on Monday ahead of Arkansas-LSU in Week 8.

Pittman covered several topics, including the health of starting quarterback Taylen Green.

Green exited Arkansas’ Week 6 win over Tennessee with an injury and his status is somewhat up in the air headed into this week’s battle with the Tigers. However, Sam Pittman expressed some confidence that Green will be able to suit up on Saturday.

“We’re hopeful that he’ll be ready to go,” Pittman said. “I feel like he will. But we’ll have to wait and see a little bit more. I’ll probably know a little bit more Wednesday … Tuesday, Wednesday. But we’re hoping he’ll be ready to play and we think he’ll be able to.”

Here’s video of Pittman’s comments:

If Green can’t go, Arkansas would turn to Malachi Singleton. He relieved Green against Tennessee and performed well, completing 2-of-3 passes for 31 yards. Singleton also scored the game-winning touchdown with 1:17 to go.

Kickoff from Fayetteville is set for 7 p.m. ET on Saturday night.
