Former Florida kicker Eddy Pineiro helped deliver a much-needed Carolina Panthers win as the team notched its second consecutive victory with the 20-17 triumph over the New York Giants in Germany. It comes on the heels on the 23-22 victory over the New Orleans Saints.

Before that, the Panthers had won just a single game all season long. Pineiro’s 36-yard attempt ultimately sealed the deal here after a forced fumble by the Carolina defense set the Panthers up to score and conclude the first overtime NFL game in history for Munich.

Here’s a look at the play:

The placekicker was good for both of his field goal attempts in the game with a long of 53 yards, responsible for 8 of the Panthers’ points on Sunday. He came into the game 10-for-11 on field goals and perfect on extra points (15-for-15).

Curiously enough, Carolina has now won as many games in Germany as it has in its home city of Charlotte all season long, an interesting stat, but also a testament to just how abysmal this season has been for the team. The Panthers will look to extend their winning streak to 3 games when they face the Kansas City Chiefs in Bank of America Stadium.
