Jalen Milroe responsible for college football's fastest plays in Week 11
Jalen Milroe was responsible for college football’s 2 fastest plays in Week 11.
The Alabama quarterback had a remarkable game as a runner in Alabama’s 42-13 win over LSU on Saturday night. He rushed for 185 yards and 4 touchdowns, averaging more than 15 yards per rush.
Given how difficult he was to bring down on Saturday night, it shouldn’t be surprising that Milroe was clocked at a whopping 21.9 miles per hour against the Tigers. However, he didn’t just do it once — he reached that speed on 2 separate plays, according to Reel Analytics.
That top speed was high enough to earn him college football’s 2 fastest plays in Week 11. The first time he hit that threshold was early in the first quarter when he ran the ball 39 yards right through the middle of LSU’s defense for Alabama’s first score of the game:

Milroe’s 72-yard touchdown run to start the 4th quarter was his other play that reached 21.9 miles per hour:

Milroe now has 16 rushing touchdowns on the season, which ranks second amongst all SEC players so far in 2024. Tennessee running back Dylan Sampson (20) is the only other SEC star with more than 10 rushing TDs on the year.
Milroe and the Crimson Tide will be in action again this weekend vs. Mercer.

The old “College footballs’ 2 fastest plays” Award…nice, that trophy should go nicely up on the mantle with that football Kalen gave him for earning one of the top 14 players of the game this past week….OH WAIT, Jalen wasn’t on the list. He may be fast but he ain’t worthy of a top14 player award…only at Bama
We ain’t looking for the fastest player award; we are looking for the best play of each down; and to make it happen we have to have total discipline & determination that we will do it, by shutting all distractions going on during the game out, stop making stupid penalties that cost us; & in this last game against LSU we saw that except for a few times earlier in the game. This has to be a TOTAL team effort: one or two guys can’t do it by themselves. We pretty much shut out the rat poison these past two games,we have to keep on doing it.
Tennessee – the State not the school has DOMINATED PAC 12 Alabama this year. Your issues may be deeper than distractions and rat poison.
15 straight years of losing to Bama takes some time to get over I see. Troll on Vil fan.
Still upset about losing to Bama I see. Poor LH. Go troll Ole Miss and Lane Kiffin for a while.
Still, you gotta admit donke, Milroe not being selected as one of the 14 players of the game is, what’s the word I’m looking for? Peculiar…with his stats and the way he willed Bama to the win over LSU, yet not even top 14 on Kalen’s players of the week list. But hey, 2 fastest plays award is nice I suppose, for someone Kalen doesn’t even consider top 1
top 14
I find it odd that LH is so concerned about this. Bama fans clearly do not care about player of the week awards. Why do you?
If bama fans don’t care, why does Kalen force feed you 14 of them every week? You would think he would name 15, that would better Jalen’s chances of winning a game ball
Glad to see you are so worried about Milroe’s feelings. Very sad what Bama has done to you LH.
Donk you remember me warning you right?
I remember your warning about losing recruits. Then I go to 247 sports and see Bama still has the number 1 recruiting class while your Vils continue to drop in the rankings.
If you must troll, at least do it intelligently… Jalen is the first player listed on the players of the week graphic.
I’ll be dmmmmmd…that is Jalen in the top right photo, I didn’t recognize him without that entire Alabama team on his back. I stand corrected, sorry. Try not to step on that pile I accidently left on your yard, I didnd’t have a po op bag
