Jalen Hurts makes NFL history during Eagles win over Cowboys
Jalen Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles took down the Dallas Cowboys in a Week 10 NFC East contest, winning 34-6 at AT&T Stadium.
The Eagles took a 14-6 lead into the locker room before scoring the game’s final 20 points. Despite getting sacked 5 times and throwing an interception, Hurts accounted for 4 touchdowns on the afternoon, passing for 202 yards and a pair of scores while taking 7 carries for 56 yards and two more TDs.
That brought Hurts’ total to 10 rushing touchdowns for the season, setting a new mark for NFL quarterbacks: he became the first QB in league history with at least 10 rushing TDs in 4 seasons and the first to record double-digit scores on the ground in 4 straight years.
After 3 rushing touchdowns in his rookie season in 2020, Hurts totaled 10 in 2021 before posting 13 in 2022 and 15 in 2023. With 8 games to go in the regular season, it’s not out of the question to see him eclipse his 2023 number.
As for the Eagles, they’ve been on a roll in recent weeks. After starting the season at 2-2, they’ve won their last 5 games.
They’ll look to make it 6 in a row in Week 11, hosting the Washington Commanders on Thursday night in a massive game between the first- and second-place teams in the NFC East.
