Arkansas encountered an issue long before the Razorbacks kicked off with No. 8 LSU on Saturday night in Fayetteville.

A water main burst under the primary artery that funnels into Razorback Stadium at the corner of Razorback Road and Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. Two southbound lanes were closed, and 1 eastbound lane was closed as well.

This issue happening on any day would be cause for concern and a traffic nightmare. But on an Arkansas football game day? Well, that’s about the worst timing you could have for something like this. Huge traffic issues are now looming long before the 7 p.m. ET kickoff.

All of this means it could be a late-arriving crowd for the primetime SEC showdown on ESPN. The only positive from this, if you could frame it that way, is that it’s a night game, so there is some time during the afternoon to fix the issue. Had it been an afternoon game, there’s no telling when fans would be arriving for the game.

Arkansas is coming off a bye week following its home, primetime upset of Tennessee the week before. So, the 4-2 Razorbacks will be trying to pull off another stunner at home and in primetime against the 5-1 Tigers.
