Ricky Pearsall scores 1st NFL TD in 3rd game back from shooting
Ricky Pearsall has experienced quite the journey to just suit up for the San Francisco 49ers after being drafted by the club back in April.
His journey came to a climax Sunday, as Pearsall hauled in his first-career touchdown catch at the professional level against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Pearsall caught a crossing route over the middle of the field and beat Bucs’ star safety Antoine Winfield Jr. down the field for the game’s first score.

The former Florida Gator wide receiver was notably shot during at attempted armed robbery back in late August in San Francisco. Pearsall was hospitalized in serious but stable condition, and he made a full recovery before being able to slowly but surely return to practicing with the 49ers.
Pearsall made his season debut against the Kansas City Chiefs on Oct. 20, catching 3 passes for 21 yards. He then seemed to settle in during the following game against the Dallas Cowboys, as he caught 4 passes for 38 yards while also rushing for a 39-yard gain.
Ideally, the 46-yard score against the Buccaneers is the first of many for a player who has gone through more challenges in his first season than most NFL rookies ever have to face.
Good for Ricky. I just hope he wears his flak jacket and has his 12 person security detail the next time he stops for the $6 a gallon gas in SF.
Awesome, I hope he has many more.
