Scott Van Pelt has shared his pick against the spread for Saturday’s massive collision between No. 7 Tennessee and No. 12 Georgia.

The veteran SportsCenter host gave his pick as part of his weekly ‘Winners’ segment on ESPN Thursday night. Van Pelt is going with the home side, backing Georgia despite a 9.5-point spread (via ESPN Bet).

“Off their worst performance of the season and back at home in Athens, we think one word sums up what we expect from Kirby Smart and Georgia,” Van Pelt said before cutting to a clip of the Bulldogs’ coach saying ‘aggression.’ “Dawgs land a good-sized chunk to Tennessee between the hedges.”

SVP is 44-40-1 on the season for his picks.

Georgia has been far less fortunate against the spread. The Dawgs are 2-7 against the number this season, which pretty effectively illustrates the kind of season it has been. Georgia is 7-2 overall, and still very much in the hunt for a College Football Playoff spot, but it hasn’t looked like its usual self outside of one-off routs of Clemson and Texas.

Against Ole Miss a week ago, Georgia lost 28-10 on the road as quarterback Carson Beck played through a fourth consecutive game with a turnover. He was sacked a season-high 5 times by the Rebels. Georgia needs him to be cleaner, and it needs the line to be more consistent against a strong Tennessee front.

Kickoff from Athens is set for 7:30 p.m. ET on ABC.
