Mississippi State is set to host a talented transfer from a rival SEC school on an official visit.

According to ESPN’s Max Olson, the Bulldogs will host former Pitt and South Carolina linebacker Bangally Kamara on November 23.

Kamara was a 2-year starter at Pitt but played more sparingly after transferring to South Carolina. In 48 total games with the Panthers, Kamara racked up 120 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, and 5 sacks.

The talented LB played in 4 games with the Gamecocks before deciding to redshirt the 2024 season and enter the transfer portal again. Kamara ended his 2024 season with 7 tackles and 1 tackle for loss.

Mississippi State is not the only program in the mix for Kamara’s talents. The former Panther and Gamecock also has official visits scheduled with Cal and Kansas, while SMU, Illinois, and Purdue remain firmly in the mix as well.

Kamara was originally rated as a 3-star prospect in the 2020 class, per the 247Sport Composite ranking. The talented defender starred for East High School in Akron, OH, and chose Pitt over Cincinnati, Akron, Bowling Green, and others.

The next game for the Bulldogs is in Week 9 against Arkansas.
