Eli Drinkwitz and the Missouri Tigers picked up a 30-23 victory against Oklahoma on Saturday night in one of the wildest endings of the 2024 regular season. There were 28 points scored in the final 3:18 of the game, including each team scoring a defensive touchdown on a scoop-and-score.

Zion Young scored the eventual game-winning touchdown for the Tigers, as he returned a fumble for a 17-yard touchdown.

Former Missouri grad and current St. Louis Cardinals writer Brenden Schaeffer wasn’t thrilled with how the Tigers were playing, and he posted his frustration in a post on X (formerly Twitter). Based on the time stamp, he vented his frustrations well before the end of the game and Mizzou’s magical finish.

“Fire Drink, Fire Kirby,” Schaeffer posted. “I don’t even care. They had two weeks, gang. Two weeks.”

It didn’t take the Tigers’ coach a long time to respond, as he did at 2 a.m. on Sunday morning.

“Maybe just stop tweeting during the game,” Drinkwitz posted. “You got no clue.”

The win kept the Tigers with an outside chance of making the College Football Playoff and the SEC Championship, even if those chances are very low.

They will hit the road next week to take on one of the hottest teams in the SEC in South Carolina. This could be another top-25 matchup for the Tigers, which would be another opportunity for both of these teams to get a big win.
