Florida fans roast Billy Napier following awful first half against Texas in Week 11
Florida fans are not happy with how the first half has gone against Texas in Week 11. The Gators are down 35-0 at the break in Austin.
It’s not the best performance considering Billy Napier just received a vote of confidence as the head coach. Turnovers, missed field goals, sacks, and questionable play-calling have all been factors during this 1st half.
As expected. Fl0rida fans took to social media to air out their frustrations following the miserable start.
Not sure how you can watch this game and think Scott Stricklin and Billy Napier need MORE time

On 4th and 2 from the 8-yard line in a 14-0 game, Billy Napier opts for a field goal.
False start, then a missed kick from 30 yards.
Ball don’t lie.

Keeping billy Napier for another year has been the worst news about florida gators this week… billy can’t set up kids for success much less keep them healthy
I guess gators nation is mediocre football now— Matt Alden Burdette (@Iknowthemufnman) November 9, 2024

Hell yeah Billy Napier, take that vote of confidence out for a spin, baby!

Florida is genuinely such a joke of a program. Why they are keeping Billy Napier is dumbfounding

Billy Napier didn’t mind rotating Mertz and DJ but he’ll be damned if he’s gonna rotate Warner out of there. For the love of God try someone else.

Impressive game day experience here.
It’s embarrassing to come play a team like Texas led by Billy Napier
— T (@tdgator9) November 9, 2024
The circumstances do not matter. Billy Napier is the worst coach in the history of UF football and is currently the worst coach in the SEC

Third-string quarterback Aidan Warner has struggled to get comfortable and it looks like it could be a long day for the Gators. With a loss in Week 11, the Gators would fall to 4-5 on the season.
With games against LSU, Ole Miss, and Florida State remaining, the Gators still need 2 wins to secure bowl eligibility. Napier’s squad also failed to reach a bowl in 2023, so the team is in danger of missing a bowl game for 2 seasons in a row for the first time since 1985-86.
He needs another season. We could be worse and more permanently damaged. Let’s just save our resources until Kirby retires and we can try again then. (Sarcasm or real thoughts of our AD, not sure)
They keep showing Strickland on the sidelines, but his facial expression doesn’t look like he has confidence in Napier right now.
Stricklin should be gone soon, right along with Goldden the perv. That should clear a path to get rid of Napier next year.
I think you misread the body language. Stricklin obviously had explosive bowel gas and was desperately trying not to expel it lest he get some on Billy.
I get it UF Fan’s.what is the guy suppose to do? He’s down to his third string QB who is clearly limited to what he can do. So limited that Florida will be lucky to score. Their defense is down Three starting corners. If anything be mad at Sark. He either doesn’t like Napier or he is a douchbag. Throwing on everydown running the score up. You know he clearly sees how limited UF is on offe se and defe se with all the injuries.
Strickland decided ro get out of Gainsville with the news breaking on Todd Golden. I see Spurrier and Mrs Jerry are there too. It’s just unbelievable to me Sark is still throwing.Your up 42-3. Come on Sarkisian. What comes around goes around coach. Hopefully it will be when you meet UGA again.
He’s just running his offense!
Sarks job is to get UTx into the top 4 of the playoff seeds. It is Florida’s job to stop them. No mercy- Gator fans understand that.
I suspect the thought on the FG attempt was Napier knowing he’s not winning this one and trying to secure the scoring streak early
Probably, with that QB he new they may not see that end of the field again. He Napier already has a lot of records for the wrong reasons as the man in charge didn’t want the scoring streak to end on his watch. Which it still may.
Losing that streak would be terrible optics after the AD’s statement. Of course he’s got bigger fires to put out with Golden and co.
Yeah but it was very early in the game. I thought he should have gone for it
I agree – it was totally up for grabs until the kickoff.
Come on now it was 14-0, 14 – 7 would have been a game.
Now when he did kick the FG I was in agreement since we were down 40 something to nil and 7 points then would have made no difference
It’s players’ coach syndrome. When you have a nice guy coach, the players will play harder in order to save the coach’s job. As soon as they know the coach is safe, they revert to form. So, for example, we have seen Florida give up 7 plays of more than 20 yards in the first half.
The players will only do just enough to keep Billy but not a thing more.
That’s just crazy enough to actually be true!
I think however that we should first consider the depleted roster, an away game, more of the same from Billy, and karma. Come to think of it, maybe karma should be first if I actually knew what the hell* that means.
Disagree, the players are not coasting or quitting but it’s tough on the D when the O goes 3 and out every time
Yep, with the team down to 3rd string QB, RB, CB, WR, S, and more, the talent gap will show against a team like Texas. I saw a team that fought but was outtalented.
The last thing I want to do is make excuses for Napier. He needs to be gone, sooner rather than later.
That said, we had the top three corners and top two safeties out injured for this one. What else would you expect?
Perhaps, it’s bad karma. Perhaps, it’s bad S&C. I lean more towards the second than the first. Just another reason Napier has to go.
In this subliminal world, Emilio, what is Karma anyway? :)
Texas is for real.
You’re going to be very disillusioned when it’s revealed that Texas is really just AI. Truth be known, Sark coached the whole game from a bar on 6th Street.
If you’re going to write for a site about football, don’t show us that you know nothing about football by posting posts by fans who… know nothing about football.
The Texas offense is clearly only succeeding by targeting inexperienced third string cornerbacks.
Truth^^^
This!!
I didn’t think it would be possible for anyone to take a worse beating than Kamala and the Dems this week but we just outdid them. At least we got one win this week.
I would have settled for simply playing a competitive game, but this particular loss punctuates the AD’s earlier press release in the worst way. Goes to prove though that a team without depth is a team without pity.
Come on man they played hard till the very end too many injuries to overcome against a good team
Why do they have so many injuries? I don’t believe in karma.
The Jacksonville field for one, some were lingering ones that needed to be fixed and you might as well do it now so they’re ready for next season.
AKA, Cojo, lack of depth. Agree though that even with more depth the cumulative number of key injuries would be hard to overcome, and back-ups did play with spirit.
I’m with StL on the S&C, unless somebody comes up with a better explanation for the rate and frequency.
